Summer's Field, Three Hearts Farm

Summer's Field, oil on aluminum, 12x16, NFS, landscape

Did this as a wedding present for one of my old students, Summer Wilson. This is the farm where she grew up. Her mother, Meredith, teaches at The Heritage School with me. Meredith teaches are to grades k-6 and I teach 7-12. Meredith is an inspiration to me and even let me use a beautiful studio space above her garage several years ago... Summer married yesterday. Good luck!!

Playing on Aluminum

Citra Farm, 8x12, oil on aluminum, $425, landscape

Using some reference from last year to play on aluminum. I love the way the paint sits up and shines... the colors are so rich and don't absorb into the metal like it does on natural fibers like linen or cotton.

Wartrace Remnants

Wartrace Remnants, 6x12in, oil on aluminum, $250

Playing on aluminum here. Kinda tricky, the effect is interesting, though none of the aluminum come through... it just have a brighter feel even thought I sanded and stained the aluminum so it would take oil better.
