Layers

Layers, oil on linen, 12x16, palette knife, on hold, architecture

Still working on trying to keep my knife work from looking like knife work... Keeping the darks thick and rubbing the paint in with the knife in addition to laying it on. I'm really liking where this is going.

Along Christmas Creek

Along Christmas Creek, 8x12, oil on linen, on hold, landscape
Since our trip to Cumberland earlier this summer, I have decided to do a show of large scale canopies from the barrier island. The show will be later this year and all studies and painting will be on hold until then... unless I can't bankroll the show! These are trees along Christmas Creek near High Point.

Whachulookinat

Whachulookinat, 12x12, oil on museum wrap, on hold
A friend went to a chicken show and came back with the most amazing photos of the chickens. They each had so much personality and character. She is allowing me to paint portraits from the images. I am calling the series Chicken Heads. I will not be selling them until the series is completed. I hope to have a 12"x12" and a 24"x24" version of each. Keep watching!
