Study, The Gay Dolphin 293

Fellow painter, Martin Pate, turned me onto this sign while we were staying in Myrtle Beach, SC for the Oil Painters of America Regional Show last month. This is a study for a larger painting to come.

  1. Fantastic work David, very much looking forward to seeing the large painting!

  2. A sign w/ a built-in arrow is always a plus. Strong colors, too. My favorite in Myrtle Beach was always The Thunderbird Motel. Congratulations on the super nice article in Newnan magazine. I really like the Animal cracker box. g.b.

  3. thanks, guys! martin took me by the thunderbird... i think... i lknow there is one in savannah, i have stayed there upon my return trips and plan on painting it soon!

i like animal crackers, too. it was a commission, so i didn't get to enjoy it for long!

  4. Is this painting for sale? If so, what is the price?

  5. This painting is for sale, please email me at for purchase info or click the buy now button...
