Carabelle Morning

Carabelle Morning, oil on museum wrap, 36x48in, $3400
The reference for this piece was taken early in the morning the day of the Great American Paint Out while hunting for subject matter. I decided to stay away from boats since the best plein air boat painters in the business were there. I decided to stick to my thing and i did an alley with a truck at the end. Hodges Soileau actually painted this boat during the paint out and he nailed it.

  1. Great painting! Solid composition forces the viewer right onto that boat. The warm whites in just the right place. I love it.
