Country Road

Painted this from some reference I took last fall while visiting with the Plein Air painters of the Southeast in Leipers Fork, Tennessee... or as I like to call it, God's Country.

Olive Road, Tennessee

More plein air work just outside Paris, TN. Not too many places in the farmland to pull over, but I found a nice quit spot.

Road to Hazel

Road to Hazel, oil on linen mounted to gatorfoam, 8x24in, ON HOLD, landscape
Small Value Study, Road to Hazel, 2x6in, oil on linen
Grabbed a quick iPhone picture of this stand of trees in a pasture right as I drove by it at Christmas. It was blurry and had just the right information to have fun with. I did a small study, then an 8x24in version and I still want to do it bigger.

Last Light

Last Light, 18x24in, oil on linen panel

Here is my first work up from the smaller 5x7 sketches. This is not the first painting of the year, there is more to come! I am holding on to this one for some competitions I am planning on entering. I have taken the month of January to paint for me... commissions have taken a back seat until the beginning of February.
