Here is my first work up from the smaller 5x7 sketches. This is not the first painting of the year, there is more to come! I am holding on to this one for some competitions I am planning on entering. I have taken the month of January to paint for me... commissions have taken a back seat until the beginning of February.

ReplyDeleteI think you did a superb job working this up from your small sketch! I really like your colours in this one, they have such good harmony, somehow the overall effect of the painting is more joyous than the small sketch; you must of been having a good time painting it! I think you're right to hold on to this one I'm sure it will serve you well in the competitions. Good luck with them! I've enjoyed browsing your art blog; always nice to find a fellow painter.
