This was the first piece I did when we got to Marathon, TX. It was cold, rainy and couldy... there were jackets involved in the making of this plein air piece.

Grabbed a quick iPhone picture of this stand of trees in a pasture right as I drove by it at Christmas. It was blurry and had just the right information to have fun with. I did a small study, then an 8x24in version and I still want to do it bigger.

Last Light

Here is my first work up from the smaller 5x7 sketches. This is not the first painting of the year, there is more to come! I am holding on to this one for some competitions I am planning on entering. I have taken the month of January to paint for me... commissions have taken a back seat until the beginning of February.

Moonrise in Meriwether

Darien Boats

Darien Boats, 12"x16", oil on linen panel, unframed, $250

Came across some of these old pictures from a camping trip to Jekyll Island. Darien is just up the coast towards Savannah and is known as a shrimping village. I found this to be quite a challenge... the water, the reflections, the boats, the clutter. Looking forward to more boat torture in the future!

Galvaston Caddy 249 SOLD

Fresh from the photo exposition in Galvaston. I have really enjoyed working on these 11"x14" and 12"x16" panels. They are great... problem is, they need a frame. I have these old barnwood frames I put them in to hang in the studio, but not everyone is going to love barnwood like I do!

Went through Palmetto, Ga the other day to visit Serenbe and decided to duck down some side roads in search of something interesting and came across this little gem.

Red Tractor, 222

I am loving doing these smaller pieces. I should have done them before I did the larger pieces, but it is just as fun and half the pain! They are much more free and take a LOT less time to complete. I know that big may not be "In" at the moment, but I really hope to do some larger scale pieces of these tractors and trucks. I think it would be really cool to have an almost life siZe painting of a junk car on your wall.

In the meantime, I am going to enjoy burning up these smaller linen panels I have.
